Hi Dom, All softbills seem to carry a adove average price tag than a few years ago, I suppose availability, supply and demand and a bit of greed all have created these factors. If looked after properly they can live a relatively long life . Sunbirds can live up to 15 years. Depends what your aims are in birdkeeping.

Similarly with parrots, before Covid/Brexit Black headed Caiques were going for £6‐800 a pair now some are as much as £1200. Yellow thighed £800‐1000 and now around £12-1500.

Sadly Brexit has had a noticeable effect on imports especially due to a lack of Quarentine facilities in the UK
