Re-checked today and some good and bad news again. Pen 1 proven pekin pair doing nothing, pen 2 mesia pair started sitting on 3 eggs today, pen3 pekin pair just thew out another full egg only one left in nest but looks like they deserted, pen 4 single male mesia, pen 5 proven pekin pair doing nothing, pen 6 pekin pair laid one egg in the nest today pen 7 empty.i believe pen 1 and 5 were raised by Peter Karsten in a bigger aviary and could be the reason why they are doing nothing . Thanks Florin

I know no changes can’t be made this season but I wondered if for next year it may be an idea to put a solid barrier in between each aviary maybe just halfway down?

I found that natural reed screening was very good as it gave the impression of dense thicket.

Also check that you have no vermin or pets disturbing them at night or at dawn.

There is a barrier between each pen already, birds can’t see each other at all, as far a vermin i had a small gap under the door about 5/8” where mice got in before but since I fixed it no mice. Haven’t noticed any vermin’s bothering them at night but can’t be sure.
