Hi Florin,
I noticed today that both birds were off the nest so took the opportunity to check the nest and there were 2 eggs that had gone cold. I candled them and both were clear this time so i have removed the eggs in the hope that they go down again.
regards
Mark.

Hi,
Just an update on the Pekins. They appear to have given up on their original nest and are building a new nest in a different shrub. It doesn't look like they are being very successful yet though as most of the material is on the floor.
will keep sharing as i hope they manage to have chicks again.

I make sure to use raffia as they use that to secure the nest to the branch and coco fiber to line the nest with.they might struggle a bit if nesting materials are not pliable. There is lots of time for them to breed yet .mine are not doing that great either: pair of mesia built a nest and laid 3 eggs in it but only one intact the others brocken.(im guessing the male is more advanced then the female is) also have a pair of pekins with 3 eggs and aded the mesia egg to that nest. Another pair of pekins built a nest but no eggs for the last 2-3 weeks. 2 other pair of pekins seem uninterested in nesting.

Hi Florin, thanks for the tip on the raffia. I'll get some and put that in as most of the nesting material ends up on the floor.
