Found my S E Mesia chick on the aviary floor fluffed and cold.
She left the nest Friday was been fed by both parents till today.
I've taken the chick to try to hand feed. I gave some chopped mealworm, and NutriBird A21 I had for parrots.
Is this ok.? what else can I feed? I would appreciate any and all advice.

If you have papaya this works well with chicks also waxworms but squash the head before feeding. If it is fledged it should be able to eat chopped up grape and blueberry. White mealworms also.

You probably won't need the pinkie mice if they've fledged luckily. We have reared them successfully if the parents neglect one of them.

Thank you for your advice Dorothy. Unfortunately I lost the chick Last night. I make sure I get papaya and be more prepared next time. but the chick was to weak when I found it. I don't think my wife would let me put pinky's in her mincer Colin.

I use a mini chopper /blender for preparing softfood for my Budgies etc so dropping the papaya & pinkies in there is not an issue !
