I know it's difficult if you have a large aviary not wanting to put more than one kind in there and lots of people get away with it but it may be the reason that they deserted. I would have thought that Pekins and Silver eared next to each other would be OK as long as they couldn't interfere. I have two pair of Silver eared Mesia and they are in separate aviaries but can see and hear each other and it doesn't appear to cause problems with breeding.

I've seen one of your articles before about your silver eared Mesia and I separated my pairs with a complete flight between them. I was hoping to put the Pekin Robins in the flight between them. at present my Pekin Robins are indoor. and I'm not happy with them there.
thanks for your help and advice any other information will be appreciated

not kept them but read a few articles about chats and I do wonder if they are not best kept in a flight on their due to their territorial behavior

Pekins I've found are compatible with other lessaggresive species although some individuals can be nest robbers

Our Silver eared Mesia are in opposite aviaries so I guess there is about two feet between them. I think that probably works as they can't actually land on the same piece of wire netting so I suppose there is no threat. Not sure if it would work well if they could make contact. By the way our pair of Pekins have never bred they have made nests and the hen has sat on the nest but no eggs.
