With the increased awareness and understanding of the dietary needs of birds/reptiles & spiders many types foods are now being produced and available in live / frozen or dried form and also the vast range of products/equipment available for controlled environment conditions so that keeping them healthy and even breeding them is now realistically possible.

I spoke too soon, i have had reports that the French authorities have been busy confiscating birds mostly south american birds that have come into Spain then work there way up into the Netherlands.
