Spangled cotinga (Cotinga cayana)

My Spangled cotinga has laid again for the second time this year sadly the egg in the first nest was not fertile hopefully this one will be fertile,
This species lays just 1 egg per nest and takes over 3 weeks before hatching.

Early last week the male suddenly turned savage several times i found him pinning the female to the ground after parting them several times i had to remove him or he would have killed her, on inspection the female had received injury to her left eye and neck, she was put on medication and put back in her flight that she is used to alone thankfully she is looking happier and eating, her egg was removed and put in the incubator. when recovered she will have a new 2 year old male for a new mate who is in the next flight.
