Peter i have these birds in the wild on my property, have many nest boxes set up for them and some of them are being used by bluebirds. I have seen them fighting over the nest box so i dont think they all go in a single box in the wild. But they are lovely birds and i love to check the nest box durring breeding season and see how the babies develop. I wish you good luck with yours.

Hi Peter . As you can see I have managed to login .
My Eastern Bluebird are looking really good at the minute . I have had them on an austerity diet since last November. Started building them up with vitamin and a good softbills dry food diet .
Have introduced some probiotics as well . I will put them down to breed at the end of this month .
I have a spare hen looking for a male so I hope between us both , we breed a few youngsters .
I love the Western Bluebird as well but the Eastern are much more attractive

Unfortunately it is looking very unlikely i that my Eastern bluebirds will be breeding this year as the female has now gone into a moult after laying a clutch of eggs too early this year.
Keeping my fingers crossed you do better Gary.
i know what i did wrong they were in with a pr of Banded pittas and was pinching all the best grub bringing them into breeding condition too soon, in the future they will be kept separately:

Mine did the same last year Pete . Laid a clutch of eggs when not 100% ready .
You might be lucky late in the season . They did go down in September a couple of years back .
Mine are on there own in there breeding flight . Just started to introduce livefood to them

Well after last years bad timing trying to breed too soon ive managed to hold them back this year, yesterday thought i would test the water with them and put a few nesting logs up, i put 2 up and by the time i got around to the front of there flight they were excitedly inspecting both, so looking positive.
