Hi Mark you might be correct about how people accessing the net using different devices .
Adding pictures should not ?? be a problem although I've not tried recently . The reason why a lot of topics don't have pictures on them is that the site got hacked a while back & when me & Pete rescued the topics we failed to rescue the picture that went with them . If you have a problem posting pics let me know & I'll have a look

As for Continental Breeders using the site there used to be a few from overseas who used to post but for various reasons they no longer visit

Thank to all that have posted.
I have added a new forum section 'just for testing' please have a go at posting a photo from different devices or adding a replay or new subject here. If there is something you want to do but can't then tell me. I am not very familiar with how the forum works and so need to try things out myself.

I am sure we can coax some EU bird keepers onto here too.

Really pleased to see posts again. I’ve been looking on and off reading through all of the amazing information that has been submitted over the years. Hope it continues.
Haven’t had a good start yet this year but it will be nice to share if things pick up.

I think it's a real shame how devoid of chat this forum is, whenever I'm buying or selling birds I can be on the phone to people for ages chatting about the hobby.

Hi Dom,  the site is definitely been quieter the last few years, the pandemic / shielding etc, has meant it has been near impossible to obtain new stock,    this in turn means no new acquisitions to talk about and fewer stories to tell. Most members have been with the site for many years and one can only write so many new topics about your own birds. To be honest the site has never been great on replies to topics, over the years I have put on a lot of topics, plenty of people reading them, but replies were like rocking-horse droppings. I visit the site most days, just to see if there is any action. Regards your inquiry  about barbets,  I cannot remember much info about them over the years, there is a good article on the Spot- sideded species on the site a species which I had myself about ten years ago. The Bearded is a species you either love or dislike, I had a male bird many years ago, got him more of curiousity, something different. Not the most handsome of birds but a quite a character. I have always enjoyed websites, but I am afraid most people seem to prefer one- liners on face-book etc. The art of conversation and writing topics is dying if not already dead.  James.
