Heavy Snow. was created by James McKay
Hi, the first heavy snow of the year in our part of the country, looking out into the back garden it looks a different world this morning, fortunately for the birds the lighting and heating come on automatically, so they will probably not know the difference. shame I will need to spoil the tranquillity with footprints when I venture up the path to the bird-room later, contrary to belief our part of Scotland rarely gets heavy snow, ( as the sun always shines in Renfrewshire ) or is it my rose coloured glasses. James.

Hi, as I was making my way up to the to the bird-room when I heard something I have not heard for quite a while, no it was not a rare passing vagrant, it was the sound of children out in the snow, building snowmen or is it snowpersons these day, sledging up and down the street, throwing snowballs having a great old time and not an I-phone to be seen. There are no children living in our street at the moment, most residents are middle to retired age, all the kids have flown the nest as to say, it is usually grandchildren visiting my own included that brighten up the street when they come. So there is something to be said about a White Christmas. James.

Hi Dorothy, I know it is the thing of the future, but there is an obsession with them that I feel is not healthy, especially kids. given the opportunity to simple thing can create a lot of fun. On Christmas Day my 4 and 2 year old grandsons had mum and dad, 4 grandparents and an aunt all having a singing and dancing competition and the 4 year old was the instigator and judge, one of the best Christmas Days ever.
