Species Coordinators
(11)
Most questions asked about breeding Co-Ordination;
Q: What are you going to do with my details? A: All breeders personal contact details shall be kept strictly private and confidential and no details shall be passed onto any interested party unless has been agreed by the person beforehand. Species details shall be held by the species Co-Ordinator in a safe area away from public viewing and shall be published and updated every 6 months. (Please be assured that only species shall be published and not personal details!!!)
Q: Are my birds going to be moved around? A: Your birds will never be moved around. What you do with your birds has nothing to do with FSSUK. All the register is for is for FSSUK to evaluate and record the numbers of given species, held in the UK and europe and point people in the right direction for new stock if available.
Q: Is it confidential, as I don't want 'random' people turning up on my door step? A: Yes, it is 100% confidential. All our Co-Ordinators will be bound by a code of practice that will not allow any exposure of peoples details to a third party. Any details divulged to a third party shall only be done so, with the species holders permission.
Q: How will it work and what are the aims? A: Our aim is to unite and put in touch breeders who keep similar species in the hope that breeders may swop or loan birds to make up breeding pairs. By allowing us to store details of the Foreign Softbill speies you keep, this will mean we have a rough idea of what species are kept in the UK, how many and contact details so we can help your chosen species find mates and breed.
Q: How do I submit my details? A: Email your details to a species coordinator and he or she will corespond with you to confirm they have been received.
Q: What details are needed? A: All we require from you is a name and email address as a minimum, we would also like to know what birds you have and how many, condition etc. All of which will be asked by the species coordinator. If you do not want people to contact you we are happy for you to request a pseudonym as long as we know that you are a genuine breeder.
Q: How often will it be updated? A: Our intention is to encourage people to submit details of species they keep as and when changes occur. This may be due to a loss of a bird, new acquisition or multiplying of stock through breeding. We aim to do a major update which will be open for public viewing every 6 months, but this will not give details of you or your specific number of birds. ONLY SPECIES AND THE NUMBERS KEPT SHALL BE SHOWN AND NOT THE BREEDERS/KEEPERS DETAILS! If you notice that the species you have is not covered in our listings that you would like to be listed under, please contact John Robinson.
