Another enjoyable Stafford. Thanks Peter for renting me a table.
And thanks to Karl and Roy for helping keep an eye on my birds.
Lovely to talk extensively to Gill, Dorothy, Mark and others.
Was it me but it seemed like there were many more softbills (on display and for sale throughout the halls) than in previous years?

I had an amusing end to the event: while I was perusing the books available on the Parrot Society stand I asked a well known Parrot Society member who was manning the stand about a certain Conure that was for sale on a breeders table. He quickly said 'I'd stick to softbills if I was you...they are the future!'...

some of the Conures species will become extinct in captivity in the foreseable future as only a few were ever imported and of those many were over bred creating a pool of birds that are genetically too close for the good of the species

Anybody else get stuck in the mud? They really need to sort that out.

Saw so many people stuck and only the one JCB slowly pulling everyone out. I popped back into the show and explained what was happening to security and offered to use my 4x4 to help pull people out.

Whilst waiting for them to find a tow rope I explained to the trade stall selling rope that everyone was stuck and that I was trying to help (rather than just leave and go home) and asked if I could borrow a length of rope. He told me I would have to buy it! Not the answer I was hoping for of course.

Anyway eventually security gave me a tow rope and I ended up pulling out 4 cars and 2 transit vans before heading off home!

Parking near to the show halls is an issue but one not easily solved as tarmacking the grass areas will cause issues relevent to the primary function of the Center which is Agricultural in nature . Not been to any of the events but I understand much of the grass areas close to the buildings are used for livestock events
